Mother's Day is Family Day with Mother in the Spotlight

This quote describes how every mother wants to feel on this special day.  My grandmother—pictured below with her family—loved Mother’s Day (note me in my father’s arms).

Traditionally, she had all of her children and grandchildren to her home for brunch—it never mattered that she had moved from her big family home to a small apartment, the people surrounding her were the most important.  She loved entertaining her family and friends!

Although family is the most important thing, if you read the description of the christening gown above, it shows that mothers appreciate and hold things dear when they come from the special people in their lives.

When my sister posted this newspaper article on Facebook, it reminded me of how truly blessed I am to have a beautiful and loving mother, as well as a family who has always shown me love.
